Assessment: depth-dependence on the Alg@line route (BalEco™ model)

The vertical structures of dissolved nutrients and silicate showed remarkable difference between the Eastern Gotland Basin and the entrance to the Gulf of Finland. The main difference between the locations was during winter and spring and autumn convection. The nutrient concentrations were higher in the Gulf of Finland than in Eastern Gotland Basin in the beginning and the end of the year (in Fig. 18 and 19). The silicate values were higher in the Gulf of Finland on the beginning of the year and otherwise same in both locations (in Fig. 20).

Cumulative day number is used as a temporal scale. Note: figure is based on operational BalEco™ ecosystem model results.
