Rio+20 – UN Conference on Sustainable Development, 20-22 June 2012, Rio de Janeiro
In the UN’s Rio +20 Conference on Sustainable Development, HELCOM was part of the side event ‘Northern Lights on Sustainable Development’, organized by the German Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States.
The speakers included Ms. Ek, Minister of Environment from Sweden; Mr. Gatilov, Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment of the Russian Federation; Mr. Altmaier, German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety; and Ms. Pokka, Permanent Secretary from the Ministry for the Environment of Finland.
