Suggest your best Baltic photos to the annual HELCOM wall calendar

The annual HELCOM Wall Calendar has displayed astoundingly beautiful sceneries, flora and fauna around the whole Baltic Sea for many years. The Calendar has been distributed to thousands of people across the globe, to celebrate the important and tireless work for the protection of the Baltic marine environment.

Would you like your own photo to be presented in the next annual calendar?

Or perhaps you know someone whose images should be enjoyed by many others?

HELCOM Secretariat is happy to open a call for remarkable photos from and around the Baltic Sea. HELCOM is involved in so many activities that the scope for motifs is large: monitoring and research of the environment; maritime and response activities; greener agriculture; greener economy; classification of marine organisms; climate change; better joint planning of the sea space; more sustainable fishing methods; and so on, to name a few.

The photos should have sufficient size for professional printing – minimum 5616 x 3744 pixels (resolution 72 dpi), saved as high quality files (preferably >80%, or >10 in scale 0-12), resulting likely in a file size of 3-5 MB.

The name of the photographer would naturally be included with the photo, and a caption would add extra value –naming at least the location of the photo and the date when it was taken.

Unfortunately the deadline is quite tight and I’d hope to receive your photo(s) by e-mail by 19 November 2012 the latest, to: johanna.laurila@helcom.fi.

If your files are too large, please contact me for other sending options.

Be inspired by the sea and all it offers!

Thank you in advance.
