Advancing fisheries management
The first version of the Generic Tool to assist fisheries management was showcased in the HELCOM-ICES Stakeholder Conference, along with many other issues around fisheries and marine conservation
In the Spotlight: Cecilia Ambjörn
The official HELCOM oil drift forecasting system, SeaTrack Web, started twenty years ago and had its predecessors in the 1970s. Cecilia Ambjörn from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute has been the Project Manager from the start.
Baltic Sea Action Plan reaffirmed support
Heads of state in the Baltic Sea Forum expressed support for the implementation of the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan to achieve a healthy status of the Baltic Sea. The Forum was held in April in St. Petersburg, Russia. Read more
