Obstacles between the shoreline point and the lane (islands or other land features) are recognized in the analysis, as well as the location of shallow areas reducing the erosional power. The result of the analysis is classified between 1 (no indication of erosion) - 5 (very high indication of erosion); values greater than "1" are given only for shoreline points locating on erosion-sensitive shores (decided based on the CORINE classification). The input data has been produced by the Finnish Maritime Administration (shipping lane, shoreline and depth information) and the Finnish Environment Institute (CORINE data indicating erosional sensitivity of the shoreline).
